Transformers 4 is holding an open casting call for actors in China! The latest installment of the Michael Bay directed mega-blockbuster franchise is planning to cast six actors from China. Two of the actors will be top-tier Chinese stars (so far, Li Bingbing is officially attached to the project), and the remaining four actors, who will star opposite Mark Wahlberg, will be selected through a nation-wide reality show. Sounds exciting, huh?
The first round of the casting call will take place online, where the public will vote for their favorite actors based on each candidate’s demo reel and videos. At the conclusion of the first round on June 30th, the top 400 candidates will move on to the second round which will proceed in a similar fashion until August 5th, where the final list of actors will be announced.
AOF friend, Mingyu Chu, is “auditioning” in the Transformers 4 casting call for the role of “man of action” (literal translation)! He is an Asian-American actor and the president of recently founded Chu Media, a full-service production company.
