Savath, Sara, Woody and Rithy Chan talk about the years living under Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge and their escape to the USA. The Chan family is the basis for the film How War Ends directed by Rock Chang and starring William Wu and D.Y. Sao and is based on a true story about Bunthon “Tony” Chan and his brother Rithy. The story takes place 18 years after the brothers have left life under Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge. Now living in the USA, Bunthon has been unable to function in life because of the trauma he experienced and he and his brother Rithy argue their very different ideas about how to deal with his dark, empty life.

How War Ends will screen Friday, Sept 21st @ 6:00PM at NewFilmmakers Los Angeles Sunset-Gower Studios. For more information visit their website: NewFilmmakers
