Saturday, June 23, 2012, Top South Korean actors Lee Byung-Hun and Ahn Sung-Ki were immortalized in Hollywood’s Walk of Fame as the first Asian actors when they left their foot and hand prints in Graumman’s Chinese Theater.

Both actors were chosen to lead the Look East Festival which premiered Lee’s critically acclaimed film “A Bittersweet Life” and Ahn’s recent hit film “Unbowed”. This year’s Look East Festival celebrated the history of Korean films. The festival was created to recognize the growing Eastern influence in the global scene.

For Lee Byung-Hun’s fans, it was a day of celebration. Fans lined up as early at 7:00 am to see their idol, including Seigyoku Kihara of Kihara’s Arts & Craft Studio. Kihara, a self proclaimed biggest fan of Lee who personally came to see Lee in person to accept her gift artwork for Lee Byung-Hun. In addition, Kihara also organized and hosted fellow fans from all over the world to all meet during this event.. According to Kihara’s daughter, Rose Balleras, her room is covered with Lee Byung-Hun’s posters, various memorabilia, and collected all Lee Byung-Hun’s movies and dramas.

Lee Byung-Hun has been recognized worldwide for his roles in “I Saw the Devil’, the hit popular drama “Iris”, and “G.I. Joe” as Storm Shadow. Lee will also reprise his role in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and will star along Bruce Willis, Anthony Hopkins, and Helen Mirren in an untitled “Red” sequel set to be released on 2013.
