Having worked for over 3 decades in Hollywood, Lily Mariye has a wonderful perspective on how roles for Asian Americans have evolved in the film industry and she also gave us insight into playing doctors/nurses and her role as Nurse Lily Jarvik on the long running TV series ER (including one of her favorite guest stars on the show). Having also guest starring roles on so many TV series including Knots Landing, Family Ties, Remington Steele, Murphy Brown, Who’s the Boss?, Star Trek, Melrose Place, Ally McBeal (and that’s just some!), we also asked her what was one of her favorite guest starring roles (Star Trek); and we talked about her recent role working along side Joan Cusak in the hit Showtime series, Shameless.
