Japanese/Danish actor/director/writer/stuntman David Sakurai was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark and at the age of 18 he moved to Japan where over the next 8 years he received theatrical training and honed his skills in the indie film scene in Tokyo. He relocated back to Denmark in 2008, establish himself in the Danish film industry starting with a feature film. In the first part of our interview, David talks about the film he wrote, produced, directed and acted in called Ud Af Moerket (Through Darkness), other film roles and the lead role in the amazing post-apocalyptic action drama Eastern Army that earned him a best actor award at the Danish Movie Battle Festival, and a Breakout Action Star Award at The 2010 Action On Film International Film Festival in Los Angeles.
