This weekend, the city of Eugene, Oregon will be hosting the 8th annual DisOrient Asian American Film Festival.  In a region that isn’t typically associated with having a large Asian-American population, a group of artists, educators and activists have created a “grassroots and volunteer-run film festival committed to presenting honest portrayals of the diversity of the Asian and Pacific Islander American experience.”

DisOrient uses the W.E.B. DuBois standard of “for us, by us, or about us” when selecting new films for the festival, and Asians On Film is excited to have so many of our friends featured in the festival this year!

If you’re near Eugene, Oregon this weekend, definitely make an effort to attend DisOrient and see some great films and soak up lots of culture!
