We were so excited about partnering with Busan West Film Festival to bring Asian American films to Asia! Programmers Derek Horne and Nam Lee attended our awards ceremony on Saturday night, February 16, 2013, to announce the two short films from our festival that will be competing at Busan West for a spot in the very prestigious Busan Film Festival in South Korea. They found the quality of films at our festival so outstanding they also decided to award 6 filmmakers ALL ACCESS passes to Busan West Film Festival whose films were under serious consideration but ultimately were not selected.
The two winning films were:
Wesley Du’s DUMPLING (AOF Winner Best Drama, Best Director & Best Actor – Jake Won Lee)
AND
Yuta Okamura’s WAKING UP (Nominated Best Drama, Best Director & Best Actor – Tadamori Yagi)
